Tacos and Burritos: Simple and Fast

I really like Mexican food, and tacos and burritos are some of my favorite things to make.

Tacos and other Mexican food may seem complicated because they usually have tons of toppings, but if you use a taco seasoning mix, you can have a delicious meal in a little over 15 minutes.

Read on for my super simple taco recipe!

Prep Time:  3 mins.                     Cook Time: 15 mins.                      Price: $

Recipe

1.25 lbs ground turkey, thawed (1 package)
1 package taco seasoning mix
3/4 C. water
3 small tomatoes
1 flour tortilla or taco shell
Cheese (optional)
Lettuce (optional)
Hot sauce (optional)

Heat a medium-sized pan on low heat.

Unwrap one package of thawed ground turkey and place it in the pan. Break up the meat with a wooden spoon.

Dice three small tomatoes and gather any other ingredients you like on your tacos (cheese, lettuce, avocado, etc.).

Continue browning the turkey, stirring to make sure it doesn't burn.

After it has browned, add three-fourths cup water and one package of taco seasoning mix.

Cook according to the package directions, about ten minutes.

Remove meat and add to taco shell or flour tortilla. Add toppings and enjoy your tacos!

Tip: Use a spicy taco seasoning mix to add more flavor!

Why: Tacos are simple and delicious meals. They make plenty for leftovers--and sharing with friends!--and they're super fast and easy to make.

Mess-ups and Missteps: I actually added a bit of canola oil to the pan to cook the taco meat, but I really didn't need to. The meat will brown on its own pretty quickly.

If you try this taco recipe, please post a comment! Let me know if you liked it, what worked/didn't work, etc.!

Enjoy!

KEEP ON COOKING!
